About Dominica NGCN

The Continuously Operating Reference GNSS Network (CORS) in Dominica forms part of the NGCN (National Geodetic Control Network) and is operated by the Lands and Surveys Division. Depending on equipment and procedures, the network can provide centimetre accuracy positioning for surveying, mapping, science, construction and other high accuracy positioning technology needs.

The CORS Network comprises of four stations with an additional station soon to be commissioned. CORS provide GNSS observation data for both real-time and static high precision positioning.

Users are provided with CORS observation data via the gnsscors website. The dataset consists of 15-second hourly and daily 24-hours RINEX files.

Static Files

Users may download static GPS data files for 'post-processing' along with their own field observation files to obtain accurate locations. These static files are available via the Reference Data Shop where custom orders can be placed for processing and download. The end-user is responsible for their own post-processing. These static files are available in standard RTCM formats plus a few other industry formats. Files are available for custom orders for 30 days, with older files archived on our FTP File Server.

Real-Time Service

The gnsscors provides a central portal for users to access traditional Real-Time Kinematic GPS corrections from individual CORS. Access is via registered password protected accounts. The user initiates a session from their own mobile field GNSS unit (rover) by contacting the gnsscors via the internet) data connection and chooses the style of correction desired.
